Over nearly a decade, the surly Los Angeles rock'n'roll mystics Death Valley Girls have used their music to connect with a collective cosmic energy. On albums such as Glow in the Dark (2016), Darkness Rains (2018), Under the Spell of Joy (2020) and Islands in the Sky (2023), the group has defied the banality of modern life while celebrating a "true magical and infinite potential" through a collage of blazing proto-punk riffs, hypnotic melodies, hallucinatory lyrics, and lysergic instrumentation.
Today, as their new album looms on the horizon, Death Valley Girls continues to channel this ecstatic energy into a broader, more collective and transformative body of work.
