Unclassifiable for more than fifteen years, Sleaford Mods twist post-punk in their own way: spoken word at street level, minimalist electronic loops and constant tension. On the mic, Jason Williamson delivers dry and incisive lyrics, fed by daily life, precarity, social fractures and austerity-wracked England; behind him, Andrew Fearn builds repetitive, rough productions that leave plenty of space for the verb and the rhythm.
With The Demise of Planet X, the duo continues this nerve-wracking chronicle of a world in crisis, between dark humor and lucid anger. On stage, no grand set nor traditional rock band: a voice/programming formula, frontal and direct, that ramps up the pressure through speed, punchlines and the impact of the beats.
