Info
On December 15, 2026, at Vicar Street in Dublin, Damien Dempsey brings his raw, plain-spoken songwriting back to the stage. Raised in Donaghmede on the city’s north side, he’s built a voice that sits somewhere between folk storytelling, Irish tradition, acoustic balladry and subtle reggae colours, always carried by that unmistakable Dublin accent.
Over the years, his songs have moved through everyday city life, collective memory and a kind of grounded spirituality, with a directness that never feels dressed up. From early landmarks like They Don’t Teach This Shit in School to later records such as No Force on Earth, Soulsun, Union and Hold Your Joy, Dempsey’s catalog keeps the focus on people, place and resilience. Expect a set that leans on the power of lyrics and rhythm as much as melody, built for a room where every word can land.
