If you like psychedelic rock that spirals into controlled chaos, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets will be performing at The Black Lab in Wasquehal on November 9, 2026. Born in Perth around guitarist and songwriter Jack McEwan, the band has carved out a place with fuzzed-out guitars, rhythms that crash and restart, and multi-layered tracks where garage, prog, and stoner influences cross paths without warning. From their self-produced beginnings to the High Visceral diptych (2016–2017), they have built their signature: a dense wall of sound, looping melodic motifs, and an energy that never lets up. And Now for the Whatchamacallit (2019) tightened their writing without lightening the texture, followed by Shyga! The Sunlight Mound (2021), more direct, and Night Gnomes (2022), with moodier atmospheres. On stage, these tracks take on another dimension: they play fast and loud, and they string together abrupt shifts as if anything could derail at every measure.
