Skye duo Valtos, aka Daniel Docherty and Martyn MacDonald, sit right where trad meets electronic, folding Gaelic-rooted melodies and folk instrumentation into club-ready pulses. Since kicking things off in late 2021, they’ve built a reputation on shows that move fast between reels, synth lines and dancefloor momentum, with a sound shaped by the likes of Martyn Bennett, Peatbog Faeries, Odesza, Madeon and Bicep. Their third album, The Last Light, released in April 2026 on Island Life Records, pushes that hybrid further, keeping a strong sense of place drawn from their island home.
On 13 December 2026 at Brewery Arts in Kendal, Valtos bring the live version of the project with a full band: Lana Pheutan, Eilidh Cormack, Finn MacPherson and Euan McLaughlin. Expect a set built for movement, switching between traditional motifs and electronic drive without losing the thread, the kind of gig that feels as much like a session as it does a late-night rave.
