Info
On November 18, 2026 at Le Ferrailleur in Nantes, Robert Finley arrives with that rugged, lived-in blues that, though belated, has firmly established him on the international stage. Born in Bernice, Louisiana, he spent many years busking and carrying gospel with Brother Finley and the Gospel Sisters, before releasing his first record at 62, Age Don’t Mean A Thing (2016). He was subsequently discovered by Dan Auerbach, and then released a string of albums on Easy Eye Sound: Goin’ Platinum (2017), Sharecropper’s Son (2021) and Black Bayou (2023).
On stage, Finley lets a gravelly voice speak and a straightforward storytelling sensibility emerge, nourished by a life of work, faith and adversity. His repertoire naturally blends blues, Southern soul, rock ’n’ roll, folk and touches of jazz, with that direct way of telling the story of Louisiana and the people who pass through it. A concert to hear a working songwriter with no posing, propelled by a live presence that goes straight to the point.
