American Aquarium returns to the stage in London on November 9, 2026 at the 100 Club, with its edgy country-rock and its penchant for stories that ring true. Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, the band has, since its beginnings, centered around BJ Barham, a songwriter with a frank voice, who tells of ordinary lives, intimate fractures, and what the American South leaves in his voice. In the studio as well as on stage, American Aquarium blends Americana, Southern rock, and roots songwriting, propelled by electric guitars, touches of pedal steel, and a band energy forged on the road. After stringing together albums and tours since the mid-2000s, they marked a turning point with Burn. Flicker. Die. (produced by Jason Isbell), before continuing to develop a bigger, more taut sound, up to Chicamacomico and The Fear of Standing Still. Expect a direct, melodic set, where storytelling matters as much as the riff.
