Formed in 2007 between Bangor and Donaghadee, Two Door Cinema Club operates as a trio, with Alex Trimble, Sam Halliday and Kevin Baird, and a simple idea: to bring indie rock together with pop efficiency, with just the right amount of post-punk edginess and electronic touches. Discovered online early and subsequently backed by Kitsuné, the band quickly established itself thanks to short, taut tracks designed to stick in the mind and, above all, to hold the stage.
From Tourist History to Beacon (produced with Jacknife Lee), their songwriting broadened, giving more room to synths and to punchier choruses. The follow-up, from Gameshow to False Alarm, leans even more into the back-and-forth between guitars and disco/new wave pulsations, without losing the sense of rhythm that defines them. With Keep On Smiling (2022), they continue to strike a balance between danceable tracks and more contemplative moments. They will perform on January 23, 2027 at the 3Arena in Dublin to experience this nerve-pop sound crafted for the live stage.
