Gregory Porter returns to the stage with that immediately recognizable deep voice, somewhere between vocal jazz, soul and gospel. Nourished by church singing as much as by New York clubs, he has built a distinctive style: phrasing that sometimes brushes against spoken word, melodies that linger in the mind without forcing themselves, and above all a way of telling stories, personal or social, with real simplicity. From Water and Be Good to his major successes at Blue Note such as Liquid Spirit or Take Me to the Alley, Porter moves between original compositions and reinterpretations, able to slip from a hushed ballad to more rhythmic titles, sometimes even reinterpreted in a house style. On June 30, 2026, at Allas Live in Helsinki, he will defend this long-running repertoire, carried by a warm stage presence and an unpretentious, elegant style.
