RØRY will perform in concert on January 30, 2027 at the Manchester Academy, with two opening acts worth checking out: Mothica and Delilah Bon.
Mothica, the project of American musician McKenzie Ellis, moves between dark electropop, alternative rock, and emo-inflected touches, with deeply intimate lyrics and choruses that hit home. Originally self-produced, her music has grown in scope across EPs and albums, culminating in Kissing Death, propelled by subtle electronic textures and a more direct energy. On stage, the contrast is striking: assured fragility, rock tension, and pop immediacy.
Delilah Bon, aka Lauren Tate, hails from the north of England and injects into her tracks a nerve-fueled mix of riot grrrl, rap, punk, and nu-metal. Abrasive beats, heavy guitars, punchy flow, and yelled passages: everything is designed to hit hard, with no detours. Her lyrics confront sexism, violence, and power dynamics head-on, with a knack for slogans and a live presence that sits as much with a punk show as with a rap set.
