If it’s been a minute since you checked in with Turnover, the Down on Earth Tour is a good way back in. The Virginia Beach band has spent the last decade drifting from early emo and pop-punk instincts into something softer and more spacious, where indie rock, dream pop and a hint of grunge blur together. From the sharper edges of Magnolia to the hazy glide of Peripheral Vision and the warmer tones of Good Nature, their songwriting keeps that introspective pull while the guitars learn to breathe.
Nothing comes in with the opposite kind of weight: a Philadelphia shoegaze wall built on thick distortion, melodies half-buried, and that slowcore drag that turns loud into heavy. Led by Domenic “Nicky” Palermo, they’ve honed this balance across records like Guilty of Everything and The Great Dismal, sitting right on the line between noise, dream pop and alt-rock grit.
Opening the night, trauma ray bring a denser, more abrasive shoegaze-from-Texas angle, mixing grunge and doom-leaning heaviness with sudden dynamic shifts. Their recent work, including Chameleon, locks into that foggy-but-punishing sound that hits hardest live. All three meet on November 21, 2026 at The Palace Theatre in Calgary.
