If you love country that doesn’t stay in one box, Paul Cauthen is coming through Midway Music Hall in Edmonton on October 17, 2026. Raised in East Texas, he’s built a solo run where outlaw country, Americana, country-rock grit and gospel-leaning harmonies all share the same stage. After first being spotted with the duo Sons of Fathers, Cauthen sharpened his own lane with releases like My Gospel, Room 41 and Country Coming Down, pairing dry, punchy rhythms with a deep baritone that can turn a ballad into something heavier, almost soul-rooted. His songs move between road stories, personal resets and rawer southern moods, with arrangements that nod to the church without turning polished.
Opening the night, Leon Majcen brings a more stripped-back songwriting approach. Born in Prague to a Bosnian refugee family and raised between Florida, New York and Nashville, he writes in a classic folk-country tradition where the story comes first. Expect acoustic, road-worn narratives shaped by work, travel, and that Townes Van Zandt–John Prine line of American songcraft, delivered straight and unforced.
