On August 24, 2026, The Tea Party returns to the stage at Théâtre Beanfield in Montreal. A trio formed in Windsor, Ontario, in the early 1990s, the band brings together Jeff Martin (vocals, guitar), Stuart Chatwood (bass, keyboards) and Jeff Burrows (drums) around an alternative rock tinged with blues, with a distinctive affinity for colors drawn from the Middle East and South Asia.
This blend is evident from Splendor Solis, and later on The Edges of Twilight and Transmission, where heavy riffs, acoustic passages, and darker atmospheres interlock seamlessly. Over the course of tours and albums, The Tea Party has honed a formula that remains very live-oriented: a solid rock backbone, textures that are sometimes progressive, and modal melodies that shift the center of gravity of the tracks.
After a hiatus in the mid-2000s and an official return in 2011, the band continued with The Ocean at the End and Blood Moon Rising, carrying on this dense, immersive sound. In Montreal, it’s an opportunity to dive back into a repertoire that relies as much on tension as on nuance.
