La Maison Tellier brings together the 'faux brothers' Helmut and Raoul Tellier, joined by Léopold, Betty and Jeff Tellier. The quintet blends folk, rock, country, and French chanson, with refined lyrics and melodies rooted in American and European imagery.
For more than 20 years, La Maison Tellier has radiated a warm and authentic energy, carrying songs that are sensitive and deeply human. Their new album, Timidité des arbres, is the Normandy-based band's eighth. Helmut and his crew continue exploring the beauty of being alive, celebrating the joy of having always made the music they love and loving the music they make. Between Tex-Mex mariachi in Calexico's style, misty ballads in the Shane MacGowan vein, and scorching dust in the style of Ali Farka Touré, this album pays homage to folk music and to human beings, in all their madness.
