Kingfishr

On 6 December 2026 Kingfishr will play at SPOT/De Oosterpoort in Groningen. The Irish trio from Limerick came together during their student years and delivers a mix of melodic folk, alternative rock influences and light indie pop. Singer-guitarist Eddie Keogh, together with McGoo and Fitz, forms the core of the band: acoustic guitars up front, spare percussion underneath and multi-part vocals that carry the songs. Their tracks revolve around landscapes, family ties and coming of age, with choruses that often grow organically into a wide, pulsing finale.

With singles like Flowers-Fire and Anyway, Kingfishr set the tone for a sound that remains direct and accessible while leaving room for dynamics and layered arrangements. Live they refined that further, from small venues to festivals in Ireland and the United Kingdom. In Groningen the trio will play a set that places new material alongside earlier tracks: songs that slowly unfold, harmonies that lock into place and guitars that build tension without excessive effect. A show focused on melody and story, tightly played and without fuss.
