Plini brings his An Unnameable Desire North American Tour to the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver on November 4, 2026. The Sydney-based guitarist and composer has shaped a solo instrumental voice built on melodic detail, progressive structures and fluid shifts in dynamics and meter. From early self-released EPs to Handmade Cities, Impulse Voices and the Mirage EP, his live set navigates between modern progressive rock and metal with touches of jazz fusion and ambient color, carried by expressive lead guitar and layered harmonies alongside his band.
Also on the bill, Night Verses appear as an instrumental trio from Los Angeles and Fullerton. After an initial post-hardcore phase with vocals, the group redirected its writing toward dense, atmospheric instrumentals, blending post-rock and art rock with a metallic edge. Their performance draws on intricate rhythms, textural contrasts and long-form builds, with pieces from From the Gallery of Sleep through 2024’s Every Sound Has a Color in the Valley of Night.
Opening is Portraits, a progressive instrumental band setting the tone with detailed guitar work and tight rhythmic interplay.
