Jesse Roper

Jesse Roper brings his indie‑fused roots blues to The 27 Club in Ottawa on November 25, 2026. The Victoria, BC guitarist and songwriter, also known as The Roper Show, draws on 70s rock, North American roots and the blues to shape a sound built on sturdy riffs, driving rhythms and melodic vocals. Emerging in the early 2010s from steady gigs around Vancouver Island, he has since expanded to national tours and festivals while keeping an independent approach to writing and recording.

On stage, Roper treats his catalogue as living material: songs stretch, solos breathe, and arrangements shift between tight groove and folk‑tinged storytelling. His albums The Fortunes (2015) and Access to Infinity (2018) map that range, from electric numbers with punchy tempos to slower pieces centered on voice and guitar. The set typically moves between gritty blues workouts and reflective, vocal‑led moments, with room for improvisation and call‑and‑response. A special guest will open, to be announced.
