Rodrigo y Gabriela

Rodrigo y Gabriela return as a duo on April 4, 2027 at La Belle Électrique in Grenoble. Trained in Mexico and later passing through Dublin, Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero have forged an entirely instrumental language in which the lead guitar cuts sharply while the other becomes a rhythm section in its own right. Their playing blends flamenco surges, Latin pulses, rock heritage and traces of metal, with a highly visual sense of contour and silence.

They are touring with OurHome, an album self-produced in Tokyo, conceived as a love letter to Japan and an intimate reflection on the place one seeks within oneself. The record marks a pronounced return to acoustic textures and features dialogues with guests such as Marty Friedman and Hiromi. On stage, these new pieces fit into a repertoire patiently built over time, from re-Foc to Mettavolution, the latter album having been awarded a Grammy.

In Grenoble, the set promises rapid counterpoints, percussive hits on the guitar body, delicate harmonies and sharp breaks, driven by Rodrigo’s incisive lines and Gabriela’s percussive groove. A wordless concert in which energy flows through the dialogue of the two guitars—between restrained tension and rhythmic bursts—offering a close-up view of the alchemy of a duo that continues to reinvent the acoustic guitar.
