Big Special bring their West Midlands grit to the stage: a duo where Joe Hicklin’s spoken-sung vocals lock in with Callum Moloney’s driving drums, thick bass lines and post‑industrial, post‑punk edges. Their songs spring from a postindustrial backdrop and tackle everyday pressures, mental health and social friction with blunt diction and a clear narrative thread. Live, they push a taut, percussive sound that moves between raw momentum and more downcast melodies, echoing the atmosphere of their 2024 debut Postindustrial Hometown Blues while sharpening it for the room.
