On 13 November 2026 at YES, 38 Charles Street, Manchester, Sundots and Lots of Hands meet for a night of understated songwriting and careful textures. Presented by Now Wave, the show brings together two projects that prize space, melody and nuance.
From Connecticut, Sundots is the songwriting outlet of Drew Collins, active since 2019. First sketched alone, then expanded on the DIY circuit with friends on stage, the project drifts between freak folk, slowcore, ambient shadings and indie rock. Songs move at a patient pace, hushed and melodic, where small textures carry as much weight as the hooks. Collins writes close to a stream of thought, circling youth, attachment and personal change. Honeyspot (2024) sharpened that approach, keeping the intimacy while giving the group dynamic more cohesion.
Lots of Hands formed in the north of England around Billy Woodhouse’s songs before becoming a duo with Elliot Dryden. Their palette folds indie folk into bedroom pop, ambient traces and discreet electronics: looped guitars, murmured ballads, open instrumentals. After early releases built long‑distance, the pair moved towards more direct co‑writing, a shift heard on into a pretty room for Fire Talk Records, where stripped folk, light electronic motifs and bright textures sit side by side.
