Southbound’s London History Sessions returns for Part 2 at Phonox, Brixton on 17 July 2026, digging back into the foundations of grime, dubstep and the sounds that link the two.
Rusko & P Money lead the charge. Leeds-born Rusko helped push dubstep onto bigger floors with bold basslines, playful hooks and side-steps into drum and bass, from early Sub Soldiers days to FabricLive.37. Facing him on the mic, South London’s P Money brings a rapid, razor-sharp flow shaped by pirate radio and clash culture, locking bars to low-end pressure and pulling classics and dubplates from deep in the bag.
Coki steps in with rugged, sub-heavy 140 built for dark rooms, pairing weight and minimal motion. On hosting duties, MC Crazy D steers the set with tight ad-libs and call-and-response, the kind of live glue that keeps the energy direct and raw.
Plastician bridges eras with selections that trace the Croydon axis where UK garage bled into grime instrumentals and early dubstep. Long tied to Rinse and the original club circuitry, he connects threads without nostalgia, just the right tunes at the right moment.
Warming and weaving between, Jaz Imsky lines up crisp transitions and fresh cuts, setting the pace and joining the dots between old pressure and new mutations.
