First brought to prominence by her single "Banana Split," Lio is today an icon of Francophone pop. The release of "Banana Split" in 1979 paved the way for a string of hits such as "Amoureux solitaires," "Amicalement vôtre" and "Week-end à Rome," a duet with Étienne Daho. With 11 albums to her name, Lio returns with a 12th studio album: Geoid Party in the Sky, born from a desire to return to her first loves and to pay tribute to the beautiful encounters life has brought her.
She called on several artists from the new generation of pop: Louane, Hoshi, Corine, Isia Marie, Betta Lemme, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Marie Darrieussecq and Sofia Portanet all agreed to write for the Belgian‑Portuguese artist. Each song is built around an encounter and the passing on of experience, and addresses themes common to women of different generations. Lio will perform in concert at Metz Congrès Robert Schuman on March 12, 2027.
