Brought to prominence by her essential single “Banana Split,” Lio is today an icon of Francophone pop. The release of “Banana Split” in 1979 paved the way for a string of hits such as “Amoureux solitaires,” “Amicalement vôtre,” and “Week-end à Rome,” a duet with Étienne Daho. With 11 albums to her name, Lio makes a grand return with a 12th studio album: Geoid Party in the Sky.

The record was born from a desire to return to her first loves and to pay tribute to the wonderful encounters life has given her — and, in particular, to the memorable meetings of her career; it is above all these encounters that enrich her new project. Lio called on several figures from the new pop generation: Louane, Hoshi, Corine, Isia Marie, Betta Lemme, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Marie Darrieussecq and Sofia Portanet all agreed to write for the Belgo‑Portuguese icon. Each song is primarily built around a meeting and a transmission, and addresses themes common to women of all generations.
