Revealed by her single “Banana Split,” Lio is today an icon of Francophone pop. The release of Banana Split in 1979 opened the way to a series of hits such as “Amoureux solitaires,” “Amicalement vôtre” and “Week-end à Rome,” a duet with Étienne Daho. With 11 albums to her name, Lio returns with a 12th studio album: Geoid Party in the Sky. The record was born from a desire to return to her first loves and to pay tribute to the beautiful encounters life has given her — and those that followed in her career; it is above all this abundance of encounters that enriches her new project.

Lio then enlisted several names from the new pop generation: Louane, Hoshi, Corine, Isia Marie, Betta Lemme, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Marie Darrieussecq and Sofia Portanet all agreed to write for the Belgian‑Portuguese artist. Each song is primarily conceived around an encounter and the passing on of experience, and addresses themes common to women of all generations.
