You had left Thaïs in her twenties, drinking, smoking and staying up late. You find her today in her early thirties and, logically, nothing has changed, except that everything is much harder, and at times like that, what better than to organize a good family meal to boost one’s self-confidence. In case she had forgotten that she is 32, single, childless, a freelance performing artist, a redhead, prone to angioedema (Quincke’s edema) and kidney stones. “Come over for a drink at my place.” One sentence, 12 syllables, 8 words, that Thaïs would have wished never to utter.
In her new show, Thaïs Vauquières invites us to an evening. She unveils the little quirks, the hidden tensions and the touching moments that make every family rich.
