Bass Emotion

Deeper Horizons returns on June 27 to celebrate summer and the 808. To do so, they are taking over the dancefloor at Le Chinois, inviting two artists from the Parisian bass scene.

Line-up

- Deeper Horizons: founded in 2023, Deeper Horizons is a collective of DJs and producers exploring the hybrid terrain of electronic music: breaks, drum & bass, UK garage, footwork, all tinged with deep, soulful and deconstructed influences. It’s a vision they intend to share with Parisian audiences.

- Sajitari: DJ, producer and promoter of Colombian origin, Sajitari was born in London and is now based in Paris. A key figure in the local jungle/drum & bass scene, she has been active for over ten years, notably through her involvement with Forever DNB, which she joined in 2016. Her trajectory includes a collaboration with Elisa Do Brasil, with whom she developed several projects: Forever DNB, the Black Swan Music label and the Tides collective. Through organising events and programming underground line-ups, she helps to anchor jungle/drum & bass culture in the capital.

- Dougie Jones: originally from the Basque Country and raised on sound systems and Toulouse drum & bass nights, Dougie Jones discovered electronic music in the 2010s. She began DJing in Paris a few years later, hosting shows on radios such as Egregore, Sub FM and Rinse France. From chest-rattling basslines and frenzied breaks to emotional melodies, her mixes are often varied, spanning the full spectrum of bass music and blending dancefloor-ready sounds with more contemplative moments. She is a resident on Egregore radio, a member of the Trajectoire collective and label, and co-founder of Bassface Cineclub, a collective that combines film-club screenings with sound-system nights.
