Info
Jungle Cakes takes over Fox & Firkin in London on 3 July 2026 with a line-up built for bass weight and quickfire mic energy. At the heart of it, General Levy brings the London sound system spirit he forged as a teenager, shaped by West Indian, Asian and African communities. Rooted in reggae and dancehall, but open to soul, ska, hip hop and calypso, his style cut through early on with releases for Fashion Records before linking with M-Beat on Incredible in 1994, a track that wired ragga vocals to jungle’s surge. Expect the same razor-sharp flow that powered singles like Tell Me Why and You Can’t Hurry Love.
Deekline, key figure of London’s underground, steers the party back to its roots. From the breakthrough of I Don’t Smoke at the turn of the millennium to the launch of Jungle Cakes in 2009, he’s pushed a hybrid club grammar where breakbeat, garage swing and jungle pressure meet. His sets tap into vocal chops, punchy breaks and low-end built for sweatbox rooms.
Ed Solo rolls in with that Brighton-honed engineering touch: ragga jungle, drum and bass and breaks fused into clean-cut, heavy rollers. A long-time studio sparring partner of Deekline, he keeps the link between classic jungle and UK bass music alive. On mic, Killa P brings a grime-hardened presence to the front, locking bars to the riddims for a straight-to-the-point session.
