An American duo formed by harpist Marilu Donovan and singer-violinist Adam Markiewicz, Leya operates in a singular realm between avant-pop, deviant chamber music, underground art, and futuristic gothic visions.

Working from three elements — a detuned harp, a troubled operatic voice, and a violin blended into the vocal texture — the duo sculpts music that is elegant and unsettling, fragile and dissonant, as if it emerges equally from an imagined baroque past and a distant future.

Through an album, cassettes, EPs, a mixtape and collaborations, Leya has navigated the noise, DIY, fashion and contemporary art scenes, crossing paths with artists such as Eartheater, Actress, Ecco2K, Brooke Candy, Sega Bodega, Claire Rousay, Okay Kaya, HTRK and Chanel Beads. Their work has resonated both at fashion shows and within institutions like MoMA and the Palais de Tokyo.

A sonic experience with spectral overtones, suspended between stillness and unease.
