The Rasmus

On 12 February 2027, The Rasmus will be appearing at La Rayonne in Villeurbanne. Formed in Helsinki in 1994, the band led by Lauri Ylönen has honed an alternative rock that blends heavy guitars, electronic textures and pop melodies. From early albums tinged with funk and punk to the more melodic turn on Into, and then the international breakthrough of Dead Letters with its hit “In the Shadows,” The Rasmus has broadened its palette without losing its knack for a catchy chorus. Subsequent releases continued to explore the terrain, from darker hues on Hide from the Sun to synth-driven shifts on Black Roses, and later The Rasmus, Dark Matters and Rise.

On stage, the current lineup brings together Ylönen (vocals), Eero Heinonen (bass), Aki Hakala (drums) and guitarist Emilia Suhonen, who joined in 2022—the same year the band presented “Jezebel” at the Eurovision Song Contest. The set will move back and forth between classics and recent tracks, with sharp riffs and subtler electronic layers, dark ballads and instantly memorable choruses.

It’s a concert that restates the band’s DNA: tight energy, hook-laden melodies and that blend of alternative rock and electrified pop that has defined their signature sound.
