Loreena McKennitt: « The Mask and Mirror 30th Anniversary Tour »

Loreena McKennitt celebrates thirty years of The Mask and Mirror with a tour that returns to the core of her music. On 29 March 2027 at the Cirque Royal in Brussels, the Canadian singer and composer places the 1994 album at the centre, where her Celtic roots meet influences from medieval Spain, the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Expect an intimate, acoustic setting in which voice, harp, piano and strings carry the atmosphere, with room for instrumental pieces and settings of literary texts.

Since the 1980s McKennitt has carved her own path between folk and world music. From her early work on the independent label Quinlan Road to The Visit, The Mask and Mirror and The Book of Secrets, she explores travel, poetry and traditions. Later records such as An Ancient Muse, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Lost Souls and Under A Winter’s Moon continue that trajectory. On stage she opts for a compact line-up that highlights her voice and the arrangements for strings and percussion. For this anniversary the songs from The Mask and Mirror return, supplemented with moments from the rest of her catalogue for a set that bridges ballads, instrumental interludes and timeless melodies.
