On February 13, 2027, at Le Cèdre in Chenôve, Médine brings Enfants du destin back into the light, the series that runs through his work. For more than twenty years he has been telling the story of the world through its fractures, here returning to those tales of childhoods swept up by History.

Born with his first album in 2004, the series follows trajectories battered by colonization, war, slavery and oppression. Behind the events are first names and faces: David, Souhan, Kunta Kinte, Nour, Yasser. Real or fictional, they carry a memory that converses with the present.

On stage, Médine revisits these stories in an intimate, acoustic setting. Supported by Guillaume Zolnierowsky’s piano and guitar and by Shéhérazade’s voice and cello, he unfolds these texts like a storyteller, close to the words.

Karinale Lo van Zaouiche intervenes in brief touches, opens up fissures and reactivates speech. In these dialogued interludes, the narrative brushes up against questions and doubts, and History ceases to be a backdrop and becomes a direct address to the present.

Between concert and theatre, Enfants du destin carves out a hybrid ground where music carries the narrative and memories answer one another.
