On 31 May 2026 at Wigwam in Dublin, Forbidden Fruit Night brings together Sally C and 1tbsp for a focused dive into contemporary club sounds.
Sally C, born in Belfast and now based in Berlin, has developed a DJ and producer approach rooted in 1980s–90s American house, threaded with acid elements and fast grooves. Her sets play on pronounced basslines, acid-tinged textures and tight transitions, blending house, fast techno and touches of breakbeat without breaks. Since 2020 she has shaped her aesthetic through her label Big Saldo’s Chunkers, a series of EPs conceived for the dancefloor, built on repetitive patterns and precise variations.
Behind 1tbsp is Maxwell Byrne, a Brisbane producer also known as Golden Vessel. With 1tbsp he explores melodic indie-house that leans toward electronic pop, driven by supple rhythms, marked basslines and guest vocals. After the EPs kanashī (2021), Joan (2022) and It’s Very Loud (2023), he released his debut album Mosquito Love in 2023, then followed with singles and collaborations with Nick Ward, Allan McConnell, Squidgenini, Sampology, Mietze Conte and Jai Piccone. On stage, his project naturally slides from the club to domestic listening, supported by appearances at BIGSOUND, Listen Out and SXSW Sydney.
