Info
On October 7, 2026, at Le Chinois in Montreuil, Jakuzi arrives with their dark synth-pop and new wave hailing from Istanbul. Formed in 2015 around Kutay Soyocak, the band first drew attention with Fantezi Müzik, initially released on cassette and reissued in 2017 by City Slang. Since then, the group has played extensively across Europe, from German clubs to festivals such as Primavera, Donaufest and Synästhesie.
Jakuzi writes songs in Turkish where melancholy intersects with post-punk tension, cold synths and krautrock inflections. Hata Payı (2019) broadened their palette, moving between lo-fi, new wave and 80s pulse. With Madalyon I (2024) the production became more cinematic, exploring identity, transformation and inner struggles. On stage, the bass moves in clean lines, the keyboards build a nocturnal soundscape, and Soyocak’s voice traces melodies with striking immediacy. A new album is in preparation: this concert will be an opportunity to hear unreleased material alongside the tracks that have established Jakuzi as one of the most singular voices of the Turkish alternative scene.
