Sunday 24 May 2026 at Hootananny Brixton, Birmingham MC Sonnyjim steps up with DJ Shortee Blitz and a circle of guests to be announced. A mainstay of the UK underground, Sonnyjim balances a relaxed, razor-sharp flow with dense, image-rich bars over boom bap, smoked-out loops and moody textures. His catalogue threads the UK scene with a New York-leaning palette, and collaborations with the likes of MF DOOM, Jay Electronica, Conway the Machine and Roc Marciano have shaped a sound that’s both measured and heavy on detail. Expect a set that leans into that grit-and-gloss contrast.
Then the ORII crew flips the room with a special ORII CLUB show, where live players ride over big DJ selections. Residents Neue Grafik, Chedda Bred, Limi and Programma push a house-jazz-broken beat axis, with Neue Grafik bringing keys and producer chops forged between Paris and South London. Musicians Auka and Llaurell add the live edge, while Big Dreco hosts and keeps the energy tight.
