Info
The Lemonheads land in Cork on 19 September 2026 for a date at Cyprus Avenue. Formed in Boston in 1986, the band grew from punk and college rock roots into a melodic strain of alternative rock that blends power pop, jangle guitars and a folk edge. Built around singer and songwriter Evan Dando, its revolving lineup has carried these songs across decades, from the early run Hate Your Friends, Creator, Lick and Lovey to the breakthrough It’s a Shame About Ray, joined by their take on Mrs. Robinson. Come on Feel the Lemonheads leaned into acoustic textures and ringing hooks, while Car Button Cloth traced a darker tone before a long pause.
Back since the mid-2000s with new players and a self-titled album in 2006, the group has also explored influences on the Varshons covers records. On stage, The Lemonheads move between brisk, chiming riffs and stripped-back moments, keeping Dando’s melodies at the center. Their shows typically roam across the catalogue, linking the scruff of the early days with the bright, tuneful pulse of the 90s and the later detours, all in a tight, guitar-forward format that suits Cyprus Avenue in Cork, Ireland.
