Elder Island

Elder Island bring their Bristol-bred indie electronica to Chalk, Brighton and Hove on 4 November 2026. Known for detailed, nocturnal soundscapes that blur indie, electronica and hints of funk, the trio build songs in layers: supple rhythms, a deep low end and airy textures with Katy Sargent’s voice at the core. Live, that mix lands between a band set and a dancefloor moment, shifting from slow-blooming grooves to tighter, hook-led rushes.

Hello Baby Okay opens a new chapter. The fresh tracks lean into a freer, more euphoric feel, swapping some of the brooding mood for lilting funk-pop guitars, springy beats and a renewed sense of play. Luke Thornton and David Havard push the pulse forward, while Sargent steers melodies that invite movement without losing the band’s refined touch. Expect older favourites reworked alongside this brighter material, a set that rides tension and release, keeps the bass warm and the percussion nimble, and lets the room breathe as the night builds.
