Digitalism bring their hybrid club/indie energy to Rough Trade East on 29 May 2026 with an in-store DJ set and signing, celebrating the release of their new album Optimism on Magnetism Records. Emerging from Hamburg, the duo of Jens Moelle and İsmail Tüfekçi built their signature by fusing dancefloor drive with song structures, first revealed on early Kitsuné singles like “Zdarlight” and “Idealistic” and shaped on their debut album Idealism. Across I Love You Dude and Mirage, they’ve shifted from electro house and indie dance toward more melodic techno shades, keeping tight drums, marked basslines and bright, compressed synths at the core.

At the decks, Digitalism link their own tracks with selections that share the same DNA: bass-forward rhythms, rising arpeggios and hooks that carry the room without breaking the flow. This in-store set spotlights Optimism while weaving in catalogue touchstones and club edits, before a signing session with the duo. A close-up moment with a project that has long balanced live sensibility and DJ instinct, in a format made for direct contact with the music and the artists.
