Elder Island - 2026

Elder Island will play the Luxor in Cologne on 20 November 2026. The trio from Bristol – Katy Sargent, Luke Thornton and David Havard – have moved since the mid-2010s between indie pop and electronic music. Their tracks often develop in layers: sleek rhythms, prominent basslines, airy synth textures and a voice that remains at the centre. Between downtempo, electronica and subtle funk accents they find a clear song focus that unites groove and atmosphere.

Live, Elder Island translate this principle into an organic setup of vocals, bass, guitar, synths and samplers. Loops are constructed on stage, patterns interlock, and breaks open space for melodies. The band shifts fluidly between clubby impulses and concert energy – an approach that has grown out of shows in venues such as the Roundhouse in London or the Bowery Ballroom in New York and has been tried-and-tested at festivals. On albums like The Omnitone Collection (2019) and Swimming Static (2020) the sound has noticeably gained in rhythmic spontaneity and melodic openness without abandoning its nocturnal, detail-rich aesthetic – exactly the mix that finds its place at the Luxor.
