Info
"Tools of Oppression/Rule by Deception", the latest full-length album by The Hope Conspiracy, was engineered by Kurt Ballou and Zach Weeks at God City Studios. Artwork for the release was created by artist Alexander Heir (Death/Traitors).
The album addresses political division, economic manipulation, war profiteering, media propaganda, and other forms of global oppression.
"Those Who Gave Us Yesterday" and "The Prophets and Doom" open the record. The set continues with "A Struggle For Power" and "Live In Fear," two fast tracks. "Shock By Shock" and "Of A Dying Nation" bring heavier, mid-paced sections. "Confusion/Chaos/Misery" picks up the pace, addressing sociopolitical themes, while "Broken Vessels" focuses on mental illness and addiction. This leads to "The West Is Dead" and the closer "The Specter Looms," reflecting on the decline of the modern age.
