Courteeners

Courteeners bring their Manchester-bred indie rock to Cardiff International Arena on 7 November 2026. Formed in 2006 around singer and songwriter Liam Fray, the band has carved a clear line from the direct energy of St. Jude and Falcon to the sleeker textures of Concrete Love and Mapping the Rendezvous, followed by More. Again. Forever. and the recent Pink Cactus Café. Their sound sits between post-Britpop grit and post‑punk revival edge, built on melodic guitars, a steady rhythm section and lyrics that keep the storytelling up front.

On stage, Courteeners play across their catalogue without leaning on nostalgia, pairing newer tracks with long-standing live favourites. Michael Campbell and Daniel Moores anchor the drive, Joe Cross shapes the low end, and Elina Lin’s keys add a subtle synth sheen that broadens the palette without blurring the rock backbone. The set is paced for big rooms: concise, tuneful and geared toward that call-and-response moment that ties band and crowd together. Cardiff gets the full picture of a group still moving forward while holding tight to its roots.
