Info
Embrace return to Glasgow on 10 November 2026 for a night at the Barrowland Ballroom. Formed in the early 90s in West Yorkshire by brothers Danny and Richard McNamara, with Steve Firth, Mike Heaton and Mickey Dale, the band carved out a post-Britpop, indie rock sound built on melodic guitars, steady rhythms, keyboards and a vocal line that leans into tension and release. Early singles All You Good Good People, Fireworks and One Big Family led to their debut The Good Will Out in 1998, followed by Drawn from Memory (2000) and If You’ve Never Been (2001), where the writing turned more intimate and restrained.
The mid-2000s brought Out of Nothing (2004), featuring Gravity written by Chris Martin, then This New Day (2006). After a long pause, Embrace picked up the thread with Embrace (2014), Love Is a Basic Need (2018) and How to Be a Person Like Other People (2022), keeping a focus on broad, melodic rock with more open arrangements than their earliest records. On stage, they draw lines across this catalogue, from indie-leaning beginnings to a mature pop-rock palette, balancing early staples with later material. A concise portrait of a band that has evolved without losing its core, played where these songs make the most sense: live, together, in Glasgow.
