Hothouse Flowers

Hothouse Flowers bring their genre-blending sound to O2 Academy Leicester on 17 November 2026. Born on the streets of Dublin in 1985 around Liam Ó Maonlaí and Fiachna Ó Braonáin, later joined by Peter O’Toole, the band threads alternative rock with folk roots, soul and gospel colours, and a clear line to Irish traditional music. On stage, Ó Maonlaí’s voice cuts through piano, guitar and close harmonies, moving from driving, rhythmic songs to slow-bloom ballads and trad-inflected instrumentals.

The set reaches from People and Home through Songs from the Rain, then the comeback years of Born, Into Your Heart and the more recent Let’s Do This Thing, often reworked with the looseness and interplay that mark their concerts. The current core—Ó Maonlaí, Ó Braonáin, Dave Clarke, Martin Brunsden and the return of O’Toole—leans into extended arrangements, call-and-response vocals and space for improvisation without losing melodic focus. A night built on strong choruses, warm textures and the kind of live conversation only a long-running band can hold.
