Death Cab for Cutie

Death Cab for Cutie bring their finely drawn indie rock to O2 Victoria Warehouse in Stretford on 19 September 2026. Formed in Bellingham, Washington in 1997 around singer-guitarist Ben Gibbard with longtime bassist Nick Harmer, the band shaped a sound of melodic guitars, understated keys and steady rhythms carrying detailed, introspective lyrics. After early lo-fi beginnings, they sharpened their writing on We Have the Facts and The Photo Album, before Transatlanticism opened the door to wider audiences. Plans and Narrow Stairs followed, then Codes and Keys, with guitarist-producer Chris Walla’s touch central to the arrangements until his departure in 2014. The lineup has since evolved, but the core voice and craft remain, heard on Kintsugi, Thank You for Today and Asphalt Meadows.

On stage, expect a set that tacks between early gems and recent tracks, shifting from hushed passages to driving crescendos, with Gibbard’s clear vocals front and center. An evening to reconnect with songs that helped define a strain of American indie rock and to hear where the group is headed now.
