Andrea von Kampen brings her warm, acoustic folk and close-up storytelling to The Cluny, Newcastle upon Tyne, on 11 August 2026. Based in Nebraska, she writes songs that move between everyday detail and nature-soaked imagery, carried by a clear voice, fingerpicked guitar and spare arrangements. First highlighted by NPR’s Tiny Desk in 2016, she opened her album run with Old Country (2019), followed by That Spell (2021) on Fantasy Records and a steady stretch of touring. She also stepped into film with A Chance Encounter, for which she wrote the soundtrack. Her self-released Sister Moon (2024) turns to climate and our bond with the earth, while the 2025 EP Before I Buy a Gun responds to the political moment with songs about justice, solidarity and compassion. On stage, she threads her set with brief stories and understated humor, shaping an intimate, welcoming atmosphere where the songwriting stays at the center.
