Militarie Gun

Militarie Gun land in Manchester on 13 July 2026 for a show at Gorilla. Formed in Los Angeles in 2020 by singer and songwriter Ian Shelton, long rooted in the US hardcore scene, the band pushes a taut strain of rock that threads punk urgency, post-hardcore grit and a marked melodic sense. With Nick Cogan, William Acuña, Max Epstein and Vince Nguyen on board, the project took shape during lockdown when Shelton sought a wider outlet beyond Regional Justice Center.

From the concise, rough-edged debut EP My Life Is Over to the twin releases All Roads Lead to the Gun I & II, then the collaboration with Dazy on Pressure Cooker, Militarie Gun have sharpened short songs with clear vocals and serrated guitars. Their first album, Life Under the Gun, released in 2023 on Loma Vista, tightened the balance between speed, abrasion and accessible hooks.

On stage, the approach stays direct: tight structures, riffs that bite, choruses that lodge fast. At Gorilla, the set draws on their hardcore roots while leaning into melody, carried by the tension in Shelton’s delivery and the band’s punchy swing.
