Info
Florence + The Machine play Edinburgh Summer Sessions at the Royal Highland Centre in Ingliston on 24 August 2026. Led by Florence Welch with long-time collaborator Isabella Summers, the group blends indie rock, art pop and baroque pop. Live, the songs pivot on pulsing drums, layered vocals and a voice that moves from whisper to open, ringing lines. Across Lungs, Ceremonials, How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, High as Hope and Dance Fever, the writing shifts between stripped-back confession and expansive arrangements; on stage it tightens into a rhythmic energy fit for open air.
Also on the bill, Self Esteem, the solo project of Rebecca Lucy Taylor (ex-Slow Club). Since 2017 she has steered a direct, beat-led pop with female vocal ensembles, spoken passages and clear hooks. The albums Compliments Please (2019), Prioritise Pleasure (2021) and A Complicated Woman (2025) address everyday pressure, relationships, sex and autonomy with frank lyrics set against broad, modern production. On stage, Self Esteem balances choreography and vocal stacks for a set built on impact and closeness.
