Info
Bowling For Soup and Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls take over O2 Academy Glasgow on 29 June 2026.
Formed in 1994 in Wichita Falls before settling in Denton, Bowling For Soup plays melodic pop-punk rooted in punk rock and power pop, with a deliberate taste for humour and pop-culture references. Fronted by Jaret Reddick, the band delivers immediate hooks and narrative lyrics about prolonged adolescence and suburban life. Albums like Drunk Enough to Dance, A Hangover You Don’t Deserve and more recently Pop Drunk Snot Bread have forged a stage-ready discography that balances brisk energy with a light touch, not to mention occasional forays into soundtracks and a cult theme for animation.
Emerging from the British punk scene, Frank Turner traded Million Dead’s post-hardcore for acoustic songwriting that preserves punk’s urgency and candour. Backed by The Sleeping Souls, he moves between folk-punk and melodic rock, crafting direct, personal songs sometimes threaded with historical and social references. From the early Sleep Is for the Week to Undefeated in 2024, his repertoire has expanded without losing the sense of communal choruswork, driven by a precise rhythm section and guitars that shift from stripped-down to full electric sweep.
Meet at the O2 Academy Glasgow, Glasgow, for an evening where Texan pop-punk verve intersects with British folk-punk songwriting.
