Shed Seven bring their Shedcember X Tour to O2 Academy Glasgow on 20 November 2026. Formed in York in 1990, the band sits between britpop, alternative and indie rock, with melodic guitars and straight-ahead choruses. Led by singer Rick Witter alongside longtime bassist Tom Gladwin, they broke through with Change Giver (1994), A Maximum High (1996) and Let It Ride (1998), before returning after a break with Instant Pleasures in 2017. More recently, A Matter of Time (2024) and Liquid Gold (2024) have refreshed the setlist, with a line-up featuring Tim Wills and Rob Maxfield. Live, the band moves easily from 90s staples to newer cuts with a direct, high-energy delivery.
Special guests The Academic open with crisp indie rock from Mullingar. Craig Fitzgerald, Dean Gavin and brothers Matthew and Stephen Murtagh first hit number one at home with debut album Tales From The Backseat in 2018, then pushed on with Sitting Pretty in 2023. Their songs thread modern hooks with classic touchstones like the Kinks and Talking Heads, driven by tight rhythms, chiming guitars and unfiltered immediacy.
