Info
Alison Moyet brings her rich contralto back on stage, tracing a line from her Yazoo origins to her solo catalogue. Emerging from the Essex punk and R&B scene before teaming with Vince Clarke in the early 80s, she forged a synth‑pop signature that she later expanded with pop, soul and blues. On 16 November 2026 at Hall for Cornwall in Truro, she revisits that journey with arrangements that shift between lean electronic textures and more organic instrumentation. The set draws from Yazoo-era staples and solo milestones alike, from the punch of Alf and Raindancing to the darker, more distilled writing heard on The Minutes and Other. Live, Moyet plays on contrasts: pulsing sequences answered by warm keys, sharp rhythms opening space for her lower register to cut through. Without fuss, she lets the songs carry the room, pushing dynamics rather than adornment. It’s a show built on songwriting, voice and a sound palette that keeps her early spark connected to where she is now.
