Earl Sweatshirt and MIKE share the stage at O2 Academy Glasgow on 25 August 2026, bringing two distinct visions of understated, inward-looking rap built from lo-fi textures and jazz-inflected loops.
Earl Sweatshirt, born Thebe Neruda Kgositsile, came up with Odd Future before carving his own lane with the mixtape Earl (2010) and albums Doris (2013), I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside (2015) and Some Rap Songs (2018). His writing folds personal narratives into tight, elliptical bars, set against grainy soul and fractured rhythms. Recent chapters like the EP Feet of Clay, the album Sick! and Voir Dire with The Alchemist extend that approach, drawing a line from raw confession to clipped, hypnotic beats.
Across the bill, New York rapper-producer MIKE (Michael Jordan Bonema) brings the sLUms spirit and the DIY pulse of his 10k label. From May God Bless Your Hustle to Disco!, Beware of the Monkey and Burning Desire, he refines a slow, grounded flow over woozy beats and looped melodies. Regular collaborations with Wiki, The Alchemist and Tony Seltzer feed into a live show that relays intimate writing with head-nod swing, bridging bedroom tape grit and New York street detail.
